JMIC offers a comprehensive service to Muslim families dealing with bereavements in accordance with Islamic Principles.
Facilities to support these include:
- Wash Room – Where the body of the deceased is washed
- All areas are served by modern ablution facilities
- Mortuary – Refrigerated storage chamber to accommodate 3 bodies
- Relatives room – Annex building attached to the mortuary where immediate family members may wait and pay their respects

Support for child funeral costs (Children’s Funeral Fund for England)
This is a government initiative which financially helps to pay for some of the costs of a funeral for a child under 18 or a baby stillborn after the 24th week of pregnancy.
It is not means-tested: what you earn or how much you have in savings will not affect what you get.
You should make sure the Funeral Directors are aware of this as they will not tell you of this government initiative, otherwise they can claim the funds on your behalf and keep the money and charge you separately.
